    What is Linux Organizer

Linux Organizer is a PIM (Personal Information Manager) which covers all needs of the regular user. Potentially this program can became the real Personal Information Manager that will include all the functionality currently spread over many stand-alone applications.

The purpose of this application is to mimic the common "paper" organizers. User can decide which sections should be included or excluded. Work as easy as with the sheet of paper and don't think about the front-ends/back-ends/engines/plugins and the other hard stuff.

At this point, the Linux Organizer core is in the development stage. The first module was already released as a stand-alone application - the Periodic Calendar. See the corresponding section for more details.

The current version will support the modular architecture and is based on gtkmm library. The previous version, built with Borland Kylix is not supported any more but you still can download it in the download area.

This program is free software. You can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation.

If you have any questions regarding the GNU GPL, please read Ukrainian Translation of the Frequently Asked Questions about the GNU GPL or the original document in English.

    Periodic Calendar

Periodic Calendar is a GUI utility which assists in women menstrual cycles tracking and fertility periods prediction. This information can be used either to became pregnant or to prevent pregnancy.

At this point the fertility prediction is based on the calendar method which is not very precise. It is not recommended to use this method alone for the birth control.

In the future versions it is planned to add the support for the BBT (Basal Body Temperature) method which in addition to the calendar method provides more precise predictions. However, this method requires more efforts (daily temperature measurements) while the calendar method requires only to remember the cycle start dates and enter them somehow into the program. The effectiveness of the BBT method itself is about 80-90%. Combining more than one method makes the predictions more effective.

Other self-observations methods I know are really hard to support on a computer.

THIS PROGRAM PREDICTIONS IN NO CASES CAN BE USED AS THE FINAL. THE METHODS USED ARE NOT 100% EFFECTIVE FOR ALL WOMEN.

This module was released separately since AFAIK there are no comparable analogs. Later this module will be a part of the Linux Organizer suite.

    Current Development State

The Periodic Calendar module is released as a stand-alone application. It will be improved constantly but the main efforts are directed to the Linux Organizer core implementation. The goal of this work is to create a flexible framework for the PIM application with the plugins support. The system components are connected using a set of the general program interfaces. The plugins could be created independently from the core application.

Feel free to contact anyone from the Development Team or leave your suggestions on our Forums or as the Bug Reports/Feature requests on the Sourceforge Project Page
Your suggestions may influence the items priority or may cause release to be earlier than initially planned if some particular function was already implemented.
